Physics, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
In addition to subject-related knowledge, the Bayreuth physics course also imparts general qualifications such as abstraction skills, problem-solving skills, and experience in interdisciplinary work. In addition, the students acquire communication skills for conveying scientific and technical facts.
In six semesters, students acquire the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree, whereby they can choose from five areas of specialization: In the area of general physics , the course is deepened in the core subjects of physics. The students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with special areas from physics and can set their own priorities. The focus on biological physics is aimed at students with a special interest in the physical principles of biological processes. Understanding these processes increasingly requires the use of physical knowledge, for example when researching information processing in nerve cells. With a focus on technical physicsthe students are made familiar with practice-relevant physical techniques. In addition, they acquire basic knowledge of economics, engineering and patent law. In the focus on environmental physics , students get to know the physical processes that determine what happens in our environment. In the focus on physics and philosophy, students also learn the basics of philosophical thinking. You will become familiar with logic, reasoning and philosophy of science.
