The production, conversion and use of regenerative, nuclear and fossil energies is a central research and technology field in the 21st century. In view of the global challenge of sustainably supplying as many regions of the world as possible with energy, global efforts in science, business and politics are aimed at further developing existing energy technologies and developing new energy sources. This is where the Bayreuth master's degree in “Energy Engineers” comes in, enabling students to work competently and creatively as engineers on innovative solutions.
The interdisciplinary orientation of the course promotes the ability to use new research results from engineering, natural and environmental sciences for technological applications. In personal contact with their lecturers and in small teams, the students are introduced to current energy-related issues and familiarized with future-oriented solutions. You will acquire well-founded specialist knowledge, especially in the areas of analysis, evaluation and optimization of energy systems, thermal, electrical, chemical and biological processes for converting and storing energy, modern measurement methods, modeling and simulation for energy technology as well as production and process engineering.
The course is designed so flexibly that the students can form their own focus of interest. Courses on research techniques as well as on the methods of technology and project management round off the training and enable students to work independently on application-oriented projects.
The master’s degree gives graduates a research-oriented and industry-related education at university level. This enables a career in industry, self-employment or an academic career in research. Typical occupational fields range from research to product and process development to development-related sales. The master’s degree in “Energy Engineers” forms a solid basis for advancement to interesting management positions.
