Business Administration, Master of Science (M.Sc.)

In-depth business education, based on the latest international research, practice-oriented and tailored to individual professional goals: these are the advantages of the master's degree in Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth, which has enjoyed an excellent reputation in economics and law for more than two decades.

Good support from lecturers

The students have the option of structuring the content and course of their master’s degree flexibly - depending on whether they are aiming for a scientific career, planning to start their career in the private sector or want to prepare for a job in public institutions. In any case, the students are individually advised and accompanied by experienced lecturers during their studies. This enables them to optimally achieve demanding study and professional goals.

Career prospects

The consecutive Master’s course in Business Administration, which builds on the Bayreuth Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, is research-related and at the same time oriented towards future fields of activity in industry, finance companies and medium-sized companies. The graduates are therefore characterized by extensive specialist knowledge, business methodological competence and an international horizon. This gives them a solid foundation for advancing into interesting management positions.

Expertise and methodological skills

The basic module area combines well-founded business management expertise with modern research methods in economics. Building on this, the students choose between two training paths:

The “small” specialization combines two specialization subjects. You can choose from finance and banking, corporate taxation, marketing, human resource management, operations management, strategic management and organization, business informatics, service management, international management, international accounting, technology and innovation management, controlling, entrepreneurship and digital business models as well as empirical economic research.
In the "major" specialization, students choose one of the following areas of specialization: Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Taxation (FACT) with auditor option, Management, Marketing & Services (MuSe), Technology, Operations & Processes (TOP) or Entrepreneurship & Innovation .

In a supplementary module area, there are many other options. Achievements can also be made in an optional semester abroad at one of the numerous partner universities. Those interested in founding a company will find a wide range of offers relating to entrepreneurship and startups. Finally, the course also offers valuable additional qualifications with the auditor option and the digital economy certificate.

a university degree (or a completed degree) with at least an examination grade of "1.9" in the Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree

equivalence

the determination of the equivalence of the completed bachelor's degree is the responsibility of the examination board and is only checked bindingly as part of the application, therefore no advance information is possible

Aptitude test

If the grade requirement is not met, an aptitude test is carried out (see Examination Regulations Appendix 2); this includes various criteria for receiving grade bonuses

Application without a certificate

It is possible to apply before completing the previous bachelor's degree. For this purpose, coursework must be available totaling at least 150 credit points with at least a grade of "1.9"

Additions from the department

Requirements for the previous bachelor's degree: The content and scope of the study and examinations should match those of the core subjects (in particular basics of business administration I and II, basics of economics (micro I / II, macro I / II), business law I / II, maths and statistics I. / II, ABWL according to the Bachelor 's degree in Business Administration ) of the Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth
