Biology, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
The bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Bayreuth provides basic scientific education and also a broad introduction to the biological sciences, including biotechnology / genetic engineering and ecology. The course is divided into four major parts of the training: general scientific principles, biological principles, specialization, and interdisciplinary skills.
In the specialization course, students set their own priorities according to their professional interests: There is a choice between molecular and cell biology and ecological and organic biology. As part of an independent research module, the students are optimally prepared for their bachelor thesis, which they write in close contact with the supervising lecturers during their third year of study.
