  • MASTER OF SCIENCE [M.SC] (BUSINESS INFORMATICS)

  • The English-language Master Program Economics computer science is interdisciplinary: There are elements of both computer science a ls also of business administration (BWL) mediated and deepened. Each student determines how they weight the areas.

    The master’s program places great value on application orientation; there are cooperations with strong practice partners. The team project, which is an integral part of the program over one or two semesters, not only promotes technical competencies, but also social skills in the area of ​​project management and teamwork.

    At the end of your studies you will write a master’s thesis, if you wish, in cooperation with a company.

    IT experts are in great demand in the economy . Depending on your interests, there are various professional opportunities:

    Core IT professions are, for example, software developers, software architects, system engineers and applications or web developers. The mixed IT professions include, for example, IT consultants, in-house consultants, IT project managers and IT controllers. In peripheral IT professions , one usually carries out data processing activities or uses ready-made application programs.

    Graduates of the master’s program in business informatics work in start-ups or in companies such as SAP, Deutsche Bank or Microsoft.

    There is also the possibility of a subsequent doctorate and thus a scientific career .

    Stay abroad
    The University of Mannheim has 450 partner universities worldwide . Along with the official foreign academic supports the faculty you organize a stay abroad. A semester abroad is not compulsory for the master’s business informatics.

    Internships
    An internship is not compulsory in the master’s degree. If you would like to do a voluntary internship, the faculty can optimally support you through its numerous contacts in business.

     

  • After the master’s degree, there is the possibility of doing a doctorate at a chair . In addition, a doctorate is possible in the form of structured doctoral training . The course management will be happy to inform you about your options.

  • Applicant must have a bachelor degree.

Application Process

  • University of Mannheim invites admission applications in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Applications for Bachelor programs are invited in the Fall semester only. With the student enrollment of around 12, 054 students out of which 3,759 are undergraduate students, it has an international student body of 18.6% higher than the national average.

    The university offers more than 60 undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of Business, Social Science, Economics, Humanities, Law and Business Information.

    Applicants must demonstrate German Language Proficiency as except 8 Master’s Programs all programs(Bachelor’s and Master’s) have Medium of Instruction as German.

  • Aptitude Test is required by undergraduate students.
  • The University of Mannheim does not charge an application fee.
  • Applicants have to apply through the University Portal. It does not collaborate with uni-assist.
  • GMAT/GRE Score is required for certain Master’s Programs. Master in Data Science requires 500 on GMAT
