Requirements for Studying Abroad in Finland

Tampere University

An overall minimum score of 6.5.

University of Eastern Finland

Overall minimum score 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in the writing section.

90–92 with a minimum of 22 points in the writing section.

Abo Akademi University

Overall minimum 6.5, with scores not below 5.5 per section.

Total score minimum 92 points.


Study in Finland without IELTS

To study in Finland without IELTS you must demonstrate that you speak English sufficiently well. Listed below are few ways from which you can take admission in the English Finnish universities without taking IELTS: 

  • If your native language is English.
  • If your previous academic degree had the English language as a medium of instruction at any of the universities in the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
  • Some Finnish universities also accept your admission application if only part of your previous academic degree was taught in English.
