  • The four-semester master’s course in "Education and Educational Science" enables you to pursue both a research-oriented and a job-related course that deals with questions of upbringing and education, teaching and learning, advice and organization. At the beginning of your studies, depending on your interests and professional profile, you decide on a focus of study (either social pedagogy or extracurricular youth and adult education) and supplement this with professional skills that you acquire as part of a systematically prepared internship. While you theoretically deepen your empirical knowledge in the “Research Methods and Evaluation” module, you have the opportunity to conduct your own small research projects in research workshops.

  • As Master graduates and -absolventinnen you open up career options on management and organizational levels of educational institutions in fields of activity of consulting, education and training, in university and non-university research and in scientific work areas of carriers, industry associations, government departments and educational and social administrations .

    There is no fixed professional field, but you will receive intensive support throughout your studies and especially during the internship so that you can relate your studies to the future professional field, develop perspectives and make contacts.

    Experience shows that the career paths of graduates of pedagogical courses are very different from one individual to another. This also means that there are many opportunities to gain specific qualifications for certain fields of activity through previous professional training, internships, initial work experience or additional qualifications.

Entry Requirement

  • Applicant must have a bachelor degree.

Application Process

  • Proof of a relevant bachelor's degree in the field of "education and training science" or proof of a comparable domestic or foreign professional university degree. If this is not yet available, a transcript of records with a calculated average grade based on at least 80% of the credit points required for the Bachelor's degree can be submitted.

    Admission can be linked to the condition that additional course work and / or examination work of a maximum of 30 credit points is provided. In this case, the course can be extended accordingly.
