BA in Economics
Our individual and social goals are constrained by the scarcity of our resources. There is only so much clean air and water to go around; our society has a limited number of workers; we have a limited supply of natural resources with which to work; our governments are constrained by their budgets; as individuals, each of us is constrained by a budget that depends on our incomes; and there are only 24 hours in a day. Because of this scarcity, we are forced to make decisions regarding the best ways to manage our resources. Economics helps us make better decisions.
Economics is the study of rational decision-making in the face of scarcity. As such, an understanding of economics is helpful in any field where decisions are made. Thus, economics is useful in business, politics, international relations, alleviating poverty and inequality, managing our environmental resources, promoting development, managing our health care system, etc.

Mount Saint Vincent University or MSVU invites applications for Fall and Winter sessions. International applicants are invited to apply for all three sessions. Also known as The Mount, Mount Saint Vincent University was first established as an academy in 1873 by the sisters of charity to train young sisters and novices. The University is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and is home to more than 4,000 students from 64 countries.
It is one of the oldest institutions in Canada that admitted women at a time when they could not even vote. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate programs, graduate programs, online programs, certificate, and diploma programs. The University offers a Ph.D. program through Nova Scotia Inter-University Doctoral Program in Educational Studies.
