The M.B.A. is master’s degree of management or business administration. The full form of M.B.A. is known as Masters of Business Administration. This degree began in the United States in beginning of the 20th century. This is thoroughly a professional degree and the various accreditation bodies provide MBA programme to ensure the consistency and quality of the education. The various institutions, universities, colleges, etc are running this degree around the world offering into the different field i.e. Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Mass Media, Accounting, Operations, and International Business etc. The programmes offered under this degree are given in the various modes that are full time, part time, executive and distance learning programmes.

MBA

The MBA is an internationally recognized and geographically flexible post graduate, post experience academic course in a number of subjects that together can be known to constitute the science of management. It is all about understanding the each and every aspect of business dynamics. An MBA is about learning that how to work with people, because it is people who run businesses.

ADMISSION CRITERIA:-

This programme is based on various admission criteria like entrance exam score e.g. CAT (The Commnon Admission Test), academic transcript, work experience, recommendation letter, personal interview, group discussion, volunteer work etc. Some business schools and universities are following their own entrance test format and criteria related to the admission in such a programme. Some business schools donot give weightage to the entrance exam but they consider the other factors like work experience, community work, international student ratio etc.

Career Prospects:-

The light is being thrown on the career prospective of the various aspects and specialization of the MBA. There are major five specializations in which the students are pursuing their careers i.e. Banking and Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Information Technology and International Business. Now based on the specializations, the following conclusions can be derived which are noted as follows.

MBA (Banking and Finance): The average salary for the entry level position in this sector varies from 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs per annum. Once, the candidate spends considerable time into the industry that is 10 years and more the candidate can draw the salary up to 15 to 25 lakhs per annum, which is again depending upon the various geographical locations

MBA (Marketing Management):- The average salary for the entry level position in this sector varies from 1.5 lakhs to 3 lakhs per annum. Once, the candidate spends considerable time into the industry or company that is 10 years and more the candidate can draw the salary up to 25 to 30 lakhs per annum, which is again depending upon the various geographical locations.

MBA (Human Resource Management):- The average salary for the entry level position in this sector varies from 1.5 lakhs to 2 lakhs per annum. Once, the candidate spends considerable time into the industry that is 10 years and more the candidate can draw the salary up to 10 to 20 lakhs per annum, which is again depending upon the various geographical locations.

MBA (Information Technology):- The average salary for the entry level position in this sector varies from 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs per annum. Once, the candidate spends considerable time into the industry that is 10 years and more the candidate can draw the salary up to 15 to 20 lakhs per annum, which is again depending upon the various geographical locations.

MBA (International Business):- The average salary for the entry level position in this sector varies from 2.5 lakhs to 4 lakhs per annum. Once, the candidate spends considerable time into the industry that is 10 years and more the candidate can draw the salary up to 10 to 20 lakhs per annum, which is again depending upon the various geographical locations.

Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), provide opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training.

Eligibility:

To be eligible to receive a Scholarship, applicants must:

a. be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing the Scholarship

b. be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website) and be residing in and applying for the scholarship from their country of citizenship

c. not be married, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds, or is eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any time during the application, selection or mobilisation phases (note: residents of Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau with New Zealand citizenship are eligible but must apply for a Student visa (subclass 500) and not be current serving military personnel

d. not be a citizen of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia or be applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently

e. not be applying for another long‐term Australia Award unless they have resided outside of Australia for twice the length of the total time that they were in Australia

f. have satisfied any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the government of the applicant’s country of citizenship (e.g. having worked a certain number of years in an appropriate sector)

g. be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the award is to be undertaken

h. be able to satisfy all requirements of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to hold a Student Visa.

i. Applicants must inform the Program Area of any connection or relationship to staff employed at Program Areas or with managing contractors so that the application may be properly and transparently managed.

African Leadership in Business MBA Scholarships

Brief description:

ALB offers scholarships to qualified residents of Africa who wish to obtain an MBA through one of the partner universities. Scholarship comes with great responsibility, and as such, ALB scholarships are offered as part of the ALB Fellowship Program.   The ALB fellowship is for citizens who are expected to serve as representatives of their country, the African continent, and the ALB Foundation throughout their program and ongoing professional career.

To ensure that the ALB goals are being pursued throughout the MBA program, all ALB Fellows complete the ALB Fellowship Project, which involves the group development of an entrepreneurial business plan to be implemented in the Fellow’s home country.  Additionally, all ALB Fellows are expected to commit to returning to their home country following graduation, and remaining there to work for a minimum of two years.

To qualify for the ALB Fellowship Program, applicants should demonstrate the following through their application:

  • A commitment to returning to their country after program completion

  • Acceptance to an MBA program
  • Completion of the GMAT exam
  • All other requirements for admission to the partner school program

  1. Register as an ALB candidate via the ALB Online Registration.
  2. Prepare for and take the GMAT exam. You should allow at least 6 – 8 weeks of daily study to properly prepare for the GMAT exam. More information about the GMAT exam can be found here.
  3. Apply for and gain admission to an MBA program through one of our university partners.
  4. Complete the ALB Fellowship application. Please note that the application will not be available until  you have registered as an ALB candidate.
