The MSc Economics offers students rigorous training in economic theory and analytical methods to answer pressing socio-economic questions. It places much emphasis on using the appropriate theoretical framework for interpreting various current economic and financial issues.

  • These include the economic impact of rising US trade tariffs, Brexit, shocks in exchange rates, China as an economic power, reducing poverty, and the rise in the global market power of firms.
  • The programme provides students with the option of two pathways: the ‘Economics Pathway’ and the ‘Financial Economics Pathway’. Under each pathway, modules have been introduced to provide students with advanced training in economics or financial economics.
