Entry Requirement

  • Applicants must have 1st Class degree (60%+)
  • Applicants must have at least 3 years work experience in a managerial role
  • Experience can be from any industry, including the public sector, charitable organisations or the arts
  • If applicants do not meet the minimum academic requirement, he/she may still be considered if:
  • he/she has professional qualifications with substantial work experience; or
  • he/she has do not hold a degree or professional qualifications but has a very strong employment record demonstrating a high degree of responsibility

Application Process

Prepare documents for application

  • SOP:
    • Applicants need to submit a personal statement of around 500 words, outlining your academic history and relevant experience
    • Applicants should also use the personal statement to outline the motivation for chosen area of study. Try to answer questions such as:
      • Why are you interested in studying at Edinburgh?
      • Why have you chosen this particular programme?
      • What are your career plans, and how will your studies support these?
    • If the applicant has any other relevant experience, for example paid or voluntary work experience or additional qualifications not stated elsewhere, then please include this information in your personal statement, or you can add it to the “Relevant knowledge/training skills” field in the application form
    • The personal statement should be no more than 500 words in length and should be written in formal English, using appropriate grammar and punctuation
  • LOR:
    • Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference reference as part of application
    • Reference should be from a senior professional colleague, preferably applicant's immediate superior, who can comment on your suitability for the MBA
    • In some cases university may request a second reference 
  • CV:
    • A detailed CV to support the application. This may either be done by entering employment history on the employment tab of the online application, or by uploading CV as part of the application

Additional documents required

  • A transcript with all of your results achieved to date
  • Official university transcripts
  • English language proficiency scores
  • Certified translations, if original documents are not in English
  • Details of finance(How do you intend to finance your study?)
