A mix of taught modules and events management practice in Year 1 allow you to:

  • develop skills such as creative, critical thinking, academic writing and referencing
  • scope the events labour market identifying core competencies for employment

You'll learn the complexities of the event planning process while working on a real event plan. And we'll support you to develop your management skills.

In Year 2 you'll learn how to:

  • develop your people management and employability skills to deliver a sustainable event
  • use project management tools
  • use financial and performance management techniques to build a business case for an event
  • identify and engage key stakeholders, manage and mitigate risk
  • establish/use key resources, targets and performance indicators. 

You will engage with key contemporary issues which affect the sector work on your dissertation and engage with practitioners. As well as prepare for professional practice.
