The modules are designed to complement and extend professional roles and commitments; the programme can be tailored to your interests and professional development needs whether you are a recently qualified teacher looking to return to study, or a school mentor ready to explore your role in the context of our MA programme. Maybe you are interested in a curriculum subject or particular aspect of pedagogy (in the public or private sector), or are a middle-leader keen to make improvements to your department or a senior leader looking for a transformative learning experience. The MA in Education provides accredited postgraduate study focused on improving professional practice.
Students will benefit from local Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences tutors as well as tutors from the University of Brighton who are experienced in teaching this course.The tutors are qualified to at least masters level with the majority holding or studying for doctoral qualifications. You will learn through a mixture of lectures, taught sessions, tutorials, online learning, group work, independent study and through work-related activities. The structure ensures a coherent and supportive student experience throughout the programme which comprises of core modules that can be applied in a variety of different areas. The number of modules taken enables a manageable workload as well as further opportunities for formative assessment.
You will study five modules over two years through a blended programme of sessions taught in blocks across designated weeks during the two years. Your professional context and work in educational settings is the basis for study and will enhance and complement your learning.

Every June, the University of Brighton hosts an education research conference, in Brighton (UK), as part of the MA programme. It provides an opportunity for both full-time and part-time MA students to learn about local practitioner research findings and to network with colleagues and local partners as well as EdD and PhD students too. All Wittenborg MA Education students are welcome to participate. Wittenborg arranges a yearly visit to the UK campus, as part of its student support services.
