Program Description

  • Are you interested in mental health and specifically in questions regarding collaboration and dialogical practices? Are you a health care professional looking to widen your horizons and make a difference through national and international initiatives within the field of mental health? As a graduate from Arcada’s Master’s Degree Programme in Mental Health you are qualified to work with managerial tasks in organizations, governmental agencies and NGOs on a local, national and international level.
  • Mental Health care and treatment in the Nordic countries is mainly based on individual and traditional models and methods, which do not necessarily respond to the needs of the client and her/his social network. The aim of this program is to promote professionals understanding and dialogical and collaborative competences and increase user involvement in social and mental health care.
  • The program is a co-operation between Arcada University of Applied Sciences (FIN), the University of Mälardalen (SWE) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NO). Please note that campus studies during the first course of the programme will be organized as intensive weeks, one week in each country. Universities pay a proportion of accommodation and travel costs for the students.
  • The programme is aimed at candidates with a suitable bachelor’s degree in nursing or related health sciences, such as midwifery, occupational therapy, public health nursing, physiotherapy, paramedics or social services.

Applicant must have a Bachelor degree.
