  • Bachelor of Business Administration

  • Get more out of your business education

With NAIT's Bachelor or Business Administration (BBA), your classes will have a business focus from day 1.

Because many professional associations require a degree before they will grant a designation, a business degree is a great way to further your career potential. Earn a general BBA by completing core courses and your choice of electives or declare an emphasis in the following subjects:

  • Accounting
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Hands-on, industry-relevant skills

Hands-on expertise with leading software applications and business processes set BBA grads apart. The degree focuses on experiential learning, including the use of simulations, interactive case studies and applied research assignments. Critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills are also key objectives.

Practical education, small classes and a welcoming environment make the JR Shaw School of Business the ideal place to start or continue your business education.

    Technology

Business and technology are linked in today's work environment. The School of Business prepares students for success by integrating mainstream technology into our teaching tools and assignments.

The JR Shaw School of Business highly recommends our students acquire and make use of a computer (laptop or tablet*) in and away from the classroom in order to successfully engage and complete JR Shaw curriculum.

Your computer will be used to access key learning resources critical to your success in the program and therefore must be in good working order. It is also important to have a battery with sufficient life to allow for use when a plug-in is not available; as your battery should be able to last throughout your daily schedule/classes.

At a minimum your laptop must meet the following requirements:

    PC

  • Windows 7 or higher
  • 10 GB free hard drive space
  • 2 GB memory (RAM)

You can expect to spend on average:

  • 20 hours per week attending classes over the course of a semester.
  • 20 hours per week studying and completing class assignments.

  • After graduation

The BBA has been approved by the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) as meeting the degree standards and requirements for their professional designation and development programs. Accordingly, many of the courses in the BBA curriculum are accepted as exemptions or pre-requisites in professional accounting, finance and human resource management designation programs including the LLQP, PRM, CFP, CFA, ACAF, CSC and CPHR.
