BA in History

The program provides training focused on the acquisition of broad historical culture and methodological tools specific to its analysis.
They offer over 100 courses from 1 st cycle allowing, among others, to address a multitude of various themes and historical issues and varied such as:
- social and cultural issues,
- the emergence of the Arab world,
- diplomatic relations between world powers,
- Latin America,
- etc.
The wide variety of courses thus gives the opportunity, over the course of the program, to specialize according to several study paths:
- Antiquity,
- Middle Ages,
- Modern and contemporary Europe,
- Canada | Quebec,
- Americas,
- Social and cultural history,
- Political history,
- History of international relations,
- World history,
- Asia and the Arab world,
- Imperial and colonial issues,
- Contemporary worlds.
The program also brings the themes and major currents of history to life by means of:
- Tutoring and individual education course, including guided readings and archival research as well as a 3 rd year internship.
- Course trips are offered punctually by the teachers.
The program offers students who have maintained a high average during their first 2 years of training, a separate honor path in 3 rd year, paving the way for a master's degree in history.
The program is structured around two main objectives:
- improve the general education of students both by acquiring disciplinary knowledge and by learning theoretical and methodological tools, while opening up to other disciplines;
- train in the practice of the profession of historian and prepare graduates to work in various spheres of professional activities which benefit from the application of the historical method.
The production of research work from first-hand sources must constitute the culmination of the general education of the student enrolled in the specialized baccalaureate. The student is thus prepared to undertake a master's degree in history.
