The human relations and networking in these movies, couple with the ways to handle different TG is something every MBA requires in real life because it teaches the fine line between compassion and commitment to work while dabbling with ethics- how far would one go to compromise ethics and traditional values.

12 Angry Men:

One of the greatest legal movies ever made, 12 Angry Men is the story of how one dissenting juror manages to convince the innocence of a death row victim. This movie showcases wonderfully the power of persuasion and phases out planning to ensure that least resistance to change. This movie speaks volumes about the interactions required in planning, bringing everyone on board while considering and accommodating alternate viewpoints- dealing with personal and professional conflicts, all of which can be applied in Business.

Citizen Kane:

 One of stellar movies in the protagonist’s career, Citizen Kane is a simple dystopia about the effects of lack of ethics. This movie speaks about the importance of probing things and not taking at them face value, even when they seem perfect. It also questions the fine line between ethics and ambition.  This movie about the trouble a person gets into for exposing the dirty secrets of tobacco mafia teaches one the importance of trustworthiness, self-reliance, and the fine line between what one believes to be right and what’s happening in reality. These are important in a business to develop credibility for the business, as well provide leeway for strong, moral and ethical growth of the business.

Up In the Air:

This movie sheds light on dealings with HR policies and practises- outlook towards problems, importance of the style of approach taken, and most importantly, the importance of team effort in working towards a problem rather than shoving it under the rug. This movie talks about how to interpret the human psyche aspect of the problem and approach for a solution with least resistance.
