The Provost Scholarship

UTC is pleased to present the Provost's Scholars Program for First-Time Freshmen applicants.  This award allows students to receive $3,000 per year.

First-Time Freshmen are encouraged to apply with UTC Admissions as their 2018-2019 application is now available! The next step is to apply for scholarships. Both applications are required for candidates to be considered for this scholarship. Since funding is limited, consideration will only be given to students who meet the following criteria:

• UTC Admissions file (application, application fee, high school transcript, and ACT/SAT score) by December 1, 2017.  (Students' qualifying test scores/GPA must also be submitted to UTC Admissions by December 1, 2017 as well.) 3.5 GPA and 26 ACT composite (1260 SAT)
• Students may receive an additional $3,500 in Tennessee HOPE Lottery Scholarship funds, if eligible.
• This award is renewable for up to three (3) additional years based on the student’s academic performance. Students should refer to their award notification letter (or the Terms & Conditions in their MyMocsNet) for enrollment requirements and renewal criteria. There is not a 'regain' option for students who do not meet the renewal criteria. Funding for this program may come from many sources including the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association, the University of Chattanooga Foundation, and other institutional sources. This scholarship cannot be stacked with other renewable scholarships or endowed scholarships offered through the UTC Scholarship & UTC Admission Offices.

We ask that you APPLY EARLY. Scholarship funds are limited and the awarding process is competitive. Meeting the eligibility requirements Does Not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship. The best way to improve your candidacy is to submit all required materials as soon as possible. Again, after being admitted, you must complete the UTC Online Scholarship Application to be considered for any scholarships.
