BURKE SCHOLARSHIPS

BURKE SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Through the generosity of Richard A. Burke, former president of Trek Corp. and a 1956 graduate of Marquette's College of Business Administration, Marquette is pleased to offer the Burke Scholarship, a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to Marquette.
  • This program recognizes, honors and encourages lifetime development of a humanitarian ethic manifested in a commitment to serve others. It is awarded annually to 10 academically talented Wisconsin high school seniors who exhibit leadership in a manner that reflects exceptional commitment to community.
  • Award winners participate in extracurricular activities sponsored by the program, as well as special academic programs focusing on the spirit of Jesuit education and service to others. The Burke Scholarship Program culminates in the recipients' commitment to make substantial service to others a part of their lives after graduation.
  • Scholaship recipients may also receive a stipend for living expenses. Eligibility for and the amount of the stipend depend upon student need as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
  • The Burke Scholarship is renewable each semester of a recipient's four-year (eight-semester) undergraduate program provided the recipient maintains a 3.0/B GPA, completes 300 hours of meaningful service each academic year, lives on campus during the first two years of the program and files the FAFSA each year. For additional program details about this award, review the applicable Award Information Guide, available from the Office of Student Financial Aid at marquette.edu/financialaid.
