The specific annual amount will be determined by the Selection Committee, based on the financial resources available. This scholarship is renewable at the discretion of the Awards Committee.

Eligibility

• COGECO Inc. established the COGECO Graduate Communications Scholarship to address the need for greater knowledge and improved understanding of all aspects of broadcasting and media communications. Its objective is to support graduate students whose research is related to virtually any area of media communications such as, but not limited to, the sociology of mass media, regulatory economics, educational applications or broadcast technology, and advanced telecommunications engineering.
• The scholarship is open to students in any college pursuing a graduate degree in an area of research that relates to media communications and the design, development, application, administration, or distribution of broadcasting and communications technology. Students must be enrolled in or admitted to a full-time research degree program of study in the College of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies.

Application package:

• A letter indicating why a candidate feels he/she is qualified and describing the candidate's current research and past accomplishments as these relate to the broadcast and communications fields. Selection criteria include:
• demonstrated academic excellence
• research potential and aptitude
• relevance of current research
• Applicants should include two letters of reference from individuals who can comment on their work and research potential.
• If submitting your application package via e-mail, make sure that all documents are in PDF format. Be sure to indicate your student number in the application package.
