Canada-Latin America and the Caribbean Research Exchanges

The Canada-Latin America and the Caribbean Research Exchange Grants program (LACREG) offers Canadian and LAC researchers opportunities for joint research on development issues of mutual concern. Support is provided in the form of travel grants. Earlier phases of LACREG were supported under projects 002624, 004097, 101783 and 103762. Following an external evaluation of Phase IV, it was decided to support a fifth phase, but with the addition of a specific commitment from each partner institution to submit a plan of action for research collaboration and proposed joint research activities. Travel grants of up to CA $20 000 will be awarded to Canadian and LAC academics (graduate students and professors) to support their professional development and North-South institutional collaboration in subject areas that correspond to IDRC program priorities.
