Melbourne Global Financial Assistance

Melbourne Global Financial Assistance is available to coursework students who require financial support to undertake an approved overseas study program of 12 weeks or more in duration as part of their degree course at the University of Melbourne.

The University awards funding to over 60 students per annum.

Benefits

Melbourne Global Financial Assistance provides for a one-off payment of up to $2,000 .

Eligibility

To be considered for this financial assistance, you must:

• have received approval to study overseas on exchange or study abroad or to undertake a University of Melbourne subject with an overseas component for at least 12 weeks; and
• be experiencing financial disadvantage; and
• not have previously received Melbourne Global Financial Assistance towards overseas study as part of your current degree course.

Application

You must submit an application for assistance using the Melbourne Global Financial Assistance Application Form by the relevant closing date:

• 20 May for departure between 1 May and 30 October
• 10 October for departure between 1 November and 30 April 

Selection

Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of the level of financial disadvantage and other scholarships awarded for the proposed overseas study.

Outcome

All candidates will be notified of the outcome via their University student email account.
