The University of Sydney and the Australian Government offer a range of scholarships and financial assistance programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Scholarships are valued from $2500 to a $10,000 annually.The University of Sydney Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Entry Scholarship is designed for students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who have obtained an ATAR of 85 or above in their HSC exams (or equivalent), and are about to start the first year of an undergraduate course at the University of Sydney.
The scholarship is worth $10,000 for one year only, and will be paid in instalments each semester (subject to enrolment). You done need to apply,because you will automatically be considered if your ATAR meets the cutoff. If offered this scholarship, you need to take it up by the time you enrol for your accepted degree program in the year for which the offer is made.
The scholarship may be deferred for up to one year.
