Criteria:
1) Be a full time matriculated sophomore or junior pursuing a degree. Sophomore nominees can expect to receive a maximum of two years support; junior nominees can expect to receive a maximum of one year of support.

2) Have a cumulative GPA of at least and be in the upper fourth of his/her class.

3) Be a US citizen, a resident alien, or, refer to the nomination material for exceptions (e.g. American Samoans).

4) For studies in sciences and math
