University of Otago Callis Trust Performance Scholarships

Information:

To encourage excellence in areas of performance including sport, culture, music and the arts, these scholarships are available to academically-able students with demonstrated high-level ability in their chosen area of performance.

Applicants must:

• be a New Zealand citizen or a New Zealand permanent resident, or have completed Year 12 and have completed or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a New Zealand school
• be intending to enrol, or are enrolled for the first year (100-level papers) of full-time, full-year undergraduate degree-level study at the University of Otago for the first time in the year following the closing date
• have at least NCEA Level 2 with a merit commendation or equivalent

Selection of recipients:

The Selection Committee consisting of the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, a representative of the Callis Trust, and the Manager, Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships, or their nominees, shall consider the following factors in recommending the award of the scholarships:

• Demonstrated excellence in the designated area of performance
• Academic ability (a minimum of NCEA Level 2 awarded with merit, or equivalent, is required for consideration)
