AUT Professional Masters Scholarships

Purpose and background of award

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Business School is known for the high quality of its graduates, the impact of its research and its effective engagement with business and the broader community. Students seeking a postgraduate qualification in business have the opportunity to refocus through AUT Business School's Professional Masters programmes. Scholarships are being offered to students to study the Master of Marketing, Master of Global Business, Master of Applied Finance or the Master of Professional Accounting.

Entry criteria:
The scholarship will be available ONLY to those applicants who meet the normal admission criteria for the relevant Professional Masters programme below, and who satisfy the selection panel as to their previous high academic performance and present capacity for study.

Selection process:

1.Submit an AUT Application for Enrolment (AFE) that meets the normal admission criteria (as below).

  • Applicants to the Master of Marketing, Master of Global Business Master and Master of Applied Finance are expected to have a bachelor's degree (in any discipline) with a minimum B minus grade average in papers at Level 7 or equivalent. For China this means 73% or above in the final year papers with no less than an overall GPA of 2.3. For India this means a minimum of a High Second Class Pass (55% - 59%). For other countries GPA equivalence will be calculated on a case by case basis. Entry is subject to the approval of the Dean (or nominee)  Applicants to the Master of Professional Accounting are expected to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Entry is subject to the approval of the Dean (or nominee).  All international students are expected to have IELTS (academic) scores of at least 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each band.

2. Attach a one page personal statement to your application for admission and provide the name of one academic referee who may be contacted before a scholarship offer is made. The one page personal statement describes the applicant's major achievements. It should not be a mere listing of facts. It should include information about the applicant's educational and practical experience, special interests and career plans. It should also outline any challenges that have influenced the applicant's educational or professional development. This statement will be used to help determine the successful scholarship applicants.

  • Applicants will be advised of the success of their application for admission and scholarship by the Faculty. The Faculty selection panel will advise the Scholarships Office of the names and student identification number of successful applicants who will pay the value of the scholarship towards the tuition fees for the programme once the recipient has enrolled
