Graduate Achievement Awards - J.B Hyne Research Innovation Awards

The Faculty of Graduate Studies created this award to recognize graduate students in any discipline who excel in research. It is named to honour Dr. James B. Hyne, the first Dean of Graduate Studies (1966-1989).

• Value: A commemorative plaque and $500 cash prize

• Application:
  • You must provide the following to your Graduate Program Administrator:
  • An up-to-date curriculum vitae that clearly indicates your contribution to publications and collaborative research activities.
  • A one-page summary of your thesis that explains the research objectives and the significance, impact, and the originality of the results. This summary must be written and signed by you.
  • Graduate Programs may nominate one graduate student for each award.
  • In addition to the documents above, the program will include:
  • A one-page letter, from your Graduate Program Director, identifying your contributions to research and to any publications.
  • The nominations will be adjudicated by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

  • Consult with your graduate program office for deadline information.
  • Program deadline for submission of nominations is April 23.
