BP Canada Energy Company Scholarships in Earth Sciences

These Scholarships, the gift of BP Canada Energy Company, are valued at $2,500.00 each annually and are awarded to two students in the Earth Sciences program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. One scholarship will be awarded to a student in Geology and one to a student in Geophysics.

Normally students must be registered full-time in the semester for which these scholarships are granted, however, in the case of a student who has met all academic requirements for their Honours degree, except the Honours dissertation, part-time registration will be accepted.

Candidates must have demonstrated high academic achievement, and expressed an interest in oil and gas exploration and development through their choice of courses and/or dissertation subjects. The scholarships will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the basis of scholarship standing and a recommendation from the Head, Department of Earth Sciences.
