The Michener Institute offers many scholarships and awards to students. Donors have established general and discipline specific scholarships and awards available to students

Program Eligibility:

Available to a full-time first, second or third year student in any program offered by The Michener Institute.

Criteria:

The successful candidate will have clearly demonstrated the following criteria:

• Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person;
• Meets Ontario residency requirements as specified by the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP);
• Demonstrated financial need;
• Demonstrated community voluntarism (inside and/or outside of Michener) and a commitment to continue that involvement; and
• Demonstrated a willingness to participate in outreach programs that assist others in need.

Selection:

• One award will be granted to an applicant who meets the above criteria and who is a student of aboriginal descent (First Nation Status, Non-status, Inuit or Métis).
• The second award will be granted to an applicant who meets the above criteria.
• If in any given year there is no applicant of aboriginal descent who meets the other criteria, then both bursaries can be awarded to students who meet the criteria and who are not of aboriginal descent. Qualified students who successfully complete each year of their program and reapply for the award at the end of each year may receive this bursary for up to three years.
