Commonwealth Indigenous Access Scholarship

• Applications are accepted all year round and will remain current for 12 months. Applications will be considered in the next offer round after lodgement and if unsuccessful will be considered in the subsequent offer rounds for the year. Students commencing their studies in Semester 1, 2018 should lodge their application by 24 December 2018 to ensure inclusion in the offer round.

Eligibility

To be considered for an Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarship, you must:

• be an Australian citizen of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent;
• complete an Australian Year 12 or the IB in Australia in the year prior to commencing your course at the University;
• not have been awarded results for subjects undertaken as part of a degree course at a tertiary institution (excluding extension studies undertaken as part of a Year 12 program); and
• meet the entry requirements for a course at the University
• In addition, to be eligible for the Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship, you must have attended school and lived in rural or regional Australia for at least three of the previous four years.
• The status of indigenous Australians must be confirmed by the Murrup Barak Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development.

Application

• Eligible students who have have had their status as an indigenous Australian confirmed by the University’s Murrup Barak Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development will be invited to apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship in January.
