Biochemistry is the bridge between biology and chemistry, and is the basis of all life. Our degree will extend your knowledge of the complex chemical reactions between molecules in biological systems. You’ll develop technical and scientific skills through a combination of practical classes and laboratory experience, and specialist training in research skills and critical thinking.
The state-of-the-art Allam Building, which links our biology and chemistry departments, is at the heart of biochemistry at Hull. You will be taught by biochemists, chemists and biologists – leaders in their fields, from researchers in medical imaging, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, wound healing and cancer, to experts in lab-on-a-chip miniaturised biochemistry.
