The master’s degree in business administration offers in-depth, research-oriented training. Students acquire in-depth business management knowledge that qualifies them to independently develop approaches to solving demanding and complex problems in application and science. The requirement of a research-oriented training is underlined by the imparting of method-oriented competences, for example in the field of empirical social research.
If you choose option B, students acquire interface skills with regard to engineering fundamentals in the fields of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering combined with economic offers.
You should have basic knowledge of business administration and economic skills from your bachelor's degree. You do not need any previous engineering knowledge. However, you should be interested in a broader and deeper business administration orientation of the business administration degree.
Professional fields of activity for graduates of the master’s degree in business administration
are in all commercial functions, especially where in-depth economic knowledge and skills are required. This affects a large number of
functions in industrial companies, but also in trading and service companies: Starting
with innovation management, procurement, production and sales, through cross-sectional functions such as logistics, organization, financing and controlling to business informatics.
At the same time, the master’s course serves as preparation for a further academic examination of the topics covered in the context of a doctorate or postgraduate
study. If you choose option B, there are also fields of activity in which an understanding
of fundamental technical relationships is necessary or helpful.

With numerous ERASMUS exchange programs, the Business Administration Institute offers many opportunities to study abroad.
Intercultural exchange, your subject from a different perspective, multilingualism, adventure, new friendships, travel ... you will experience all of this during a stay abroad! You are interested in a one to two semester study visit via the exchange programs, for a research stay, a language course or an internship, or you would like to take part in a summer school.
