In Bachelor Business computer science students learn the basics of business computer science , the computer science , the operating-economic teaching and mathematics . The main emphasis is on the skills computer science-acquire . The theoretically acquired knowledge is deepened and implemented in practical exercises, seminars and programming practices.
In the fifth and sixth semesters, students then focus on one of the sub-subjects . Due to the interdisciplinary structure of the course, a high proportion of practical work and supplementary soft skills courses, the graduates are in great demand on the national and international job market.
Business IT specialists have excellent career prospects . Thanks to their IT knowledge and their industry knowledge, they are often the point of contact for management and the IT department within a company .
Graduates of the course work in start-ups, medium-sized companies or large companies such as SAP, BASF, Microsoft or Deutsche Bank. Possible occupations are for example: software developer, web developer, IT consultant, IT project manager.
As scientists, business IT specialists examine social and technological topics such as big data, Industry 4.0 or machine learning.

University of Mannheim invites admission applications in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Applications for Bachelor programs are invited in the Fall semester only. With the student enrollment of around 12, 054 students out of which 3,759 are undergraduate students, it has an international student body of 18.6% higher than the national average.
