The Molecular and Cellular Biology master's program educates you in the molecular and cellular sub-fields of biology, both technically and methodologically. In the first year, you are taught fundamental knowledge with a discipline-specific and professionally qualifying character. The second year serves to deepen the specialized knowledge that has been acquired, and to incorporate it into the subject matter of the six-month master's thesis.
The program is research-oriented. Training is accordingly provided in an active research environment in Marburg, which is characterized by international collaborations, special research areas and research associations, graduate colleges, and a close cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for terrestrial microbiology.

With successful completion of the "Molekulare und Zelluläre Biologie / Molecular and Cellular Biology" master's program, you can demonstrate that you are able to process challenging and extensive issues in current research contexts from molecular and cellular biology. Successful graduates are thereby qualified for professional fields related to biology in biological and medical research (hospitals, industry, university) and for work in administrative offices or other public institutions. With corresponding alignment, moving toward independent work is also possible. Successful completion of the master's program qualifies students for a doctorate.

Those who can certify at least 60 credit points (CP) in subjects that are reflected in the range of subjects of the biological core modules and the subject and supplementary modules of the Biology bachelor's program of the Philipp University of Marburg can be granted admission. |
