This program draws upon the established strengths of the Department of Law and the Department of Accounting. Both departments are rated in the highest category in the UK for their teaching and the Law Department was rated the top Law faculty in the UK for the quality of its research in the recent 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. Both departments rank alongside the most highly rated departments in the subjects worldwide and have important relationships with professional and regulatory bodies. The staff in the Department of Law and the Department of Accounting makes editorial contributions to top national and international journals as well as producing leading monographs and textbooks in their areas. They have pioneered many of the areas that are taught as part of this degree.
This is a full/part-time interdisciplinary program aimed at qualified lawyers, accountants and other suitably qualified individuals. It comprises four elements - a core, compulsory course - Corporate Accountability: Topics in Legal and Accounting Regulation; one Law course; and one Accounting course; and a further option in a relevant field.
