  • It ensures that students have the appropriate training necessary to make career choices from a wider range of options after completing the program
  • Through a variety of seminars, workshops and presentations, students are introduced to the essential ingredients of doing research as well as a variety of open problems
  • Why Nipissing?
  • At Nipissing, our high faculty-to-student ratio means more individual attention for graduate students and their research. Students are carefully matched with professors with compatible interests and encouraged to pursue their own research in a collaborative and supportive environment. The faculty at the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics regularly win external grants and recognition. The department organizes workshops, seminars and conferences that feature presentations by leading researchers and scholars from Canada and abroad. Thus, our graduate students have a unique opportunity to discuss research projects with speakers and their peers and establish valuable international contacts. With financial support from their supervisors, our graduate students also have opportunities to attend research conferences around the world. The program is offered through the following paths: Major Research Paper (oneyear, full time); Thesis (two-year, full time); or on a part-time basis. Some of the courses offered include Functional Analysis, Measure Theory, Computational Topology, Numerical Methods, and Optimization
