Test Pattern For IELTS 2018

There are two major bodies that are responsible for the entire formulation and the design of the 2018 test pattern of IELTS. The British Council and the Educational Testing Service are the two responsible governing bodies.

 Well, there are many universities that accept the IELTS scores. However, the IELTS 2018 will be conducted by the Cambridge English Language Conduct.

The entire aim of the test to make sure that a student is proficient in the English language for being worthy enough for the other universities. The pattern focuses more on the use of the English language in the different situations of the day to day life at work, at home, during play, and other social gatherings as well.

With that, it should also be pointed out that the examination has two different versions known as the IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic.

Sections Of IELTS 2018

There are four different sections that are included in the paper for the IELTS examination. These sections include Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking as well. The students have to go through alternate modules for the Writing and Reading sections, but the Speaking and Listening sections have the same modules.

The entire duration of the test is about 2 hours and 45 minutes. The students will have the Writing, Reading, and Listening test consecutively without any breaks. However, the test for Speaking could be on the same day or any day in the week itself.  The Speaking test is conducted after all the other examinations are done.

Scheduling And Eligibility For IELTS 2018

As the test pattern of the IELTS examination 2018 says, the test for Speaking is basically a one-on-one examination which can be used to test the communication skills of the student in English.

It is to see whether the student is fluent in his English communication skills or not. The students and candidates who are appearing the test will be given a real-life conversation opportunity to test their conversational skills in English.

The day when the test begins, the students and the candidates would appear for the Writing and the Reading tests. Each student will go on by one and maintain a sequence and there will be no breaks provided between the different module sets.

When it comes to eligibility, there are no certain criteria as anyone can apply. However, the candidates have to be aware of the different rules and regulations of the examination before applying.
