UWS Postgraduate Research Awards are funded by the University of Western Sydney to support high quality research candidates.
Annual Comment:
The scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of $25,849 per year (2015 APA rate, indexed annually). Additional allowances include a relocation allowance if applicable, a thesis allowance and a Research Training Scheme place. UWS 'Top Ups' of $10,000 may also be available. The tenure is 3 years for doctorate study and 2 years for master study.
Eligibility:
Applicants must: be domestic students (Australian citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens); be enrolled or eligible for entry into a postgraduate research degree; not already hold an academic qualification equivalent to or at a higher level than the program being undertaken; not have previously held an Australian government funded research higher degree scholarship for 3 months or more, unless seeking to transfer; and have, or expect to attain, a bachelor honours degree class 1 or 2.1, or equivalent qualifications and experience
