Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad held Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) on behalf of the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). AP EAMCET is a national level entrance examination which is conducted to offer admissions into various undergraduate professional courses available at various Universities/Private colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP).

By clearing AP EAMCET applicants can get admissions into engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses offered at Universities/Private colleges in AP.

From this year, the exam will be held online. The idea behind this move is to make students from rural areas and government colleges aware of online examinations.

Eligibility

  • The candidate should belong to the Indian Nationality, and also he/ she should belong to the Andhra Pradesh or Telangana State.

Age Limit of Andhra Pradesh EAMCET exam

As the Age limit of AP EAMCET 2017 differs from different courses. Hence, you can check the Age Limit of Engineering, B.Sc., and Pharmacy courses below.

I. For Engineering and Pharmacy Courses:

  • Minimum Age Limit: Candidate must complete 16 years.
  • Maximum Age Limit: There is no Upper Limit.

II. For B.Tech (Dairy Technology, Ag. Eng., FS & T) and B.Sc. (CA & BM):

  • Minimum Age Limit: The candidate must complete minimum 17 years to apply for AP EAMCET exam.
  • Maximum Age Limit: Should not exceed 22 years for general/ OBC and 25 years for SC/ ST category candidates.

Required Education Qualification for AP EAMCET Exam

 For Engineering B.Pharm, B.Tech (Dairy, Agriculture Engineering, FS & T), B.Sc (CA & BM):

  • The applying candidate either passed or appearing for the Intermediate final year from the State Board of Intermediate Education.

For Pharm-D course:

  • The candidate either passed or appeared for (10+2) Exam from the State Board of Intermediate Education or the candidate who passed or appeared for the Diploma in Pharmacy course is eligible for the AP EAMCET Exam.
  • Applying candidate should obtain 45% aggregate (General or OBC) or 40% aggregate (for SC/ST) in the qualifying exam.

  • AP EAMCET 2017 question paper comprised of three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • The question paper of AP EAMCET 2017 had 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, while 80 questions were asked from Mathematics section.
  • One mark will be awarded for each correct answer in all the three sections, which makes it a total of 160 marks.
  • There is no negative marking for the wrong answer in any of the three sections of the test paper of AP EAMCET 2017.
  • The total time allotted to attempt the test was 180 minutes or 3 hours.

Important Instructions about AP EAMCET 2017

  • AP EAMCET 2017 was an offline (Pen and Paper) exam, where multiple choice questions will be asked.
  • Examinees had to use a black or blue ball point pen in the answer (OMR) sheet to darken the appropriate circle for each response.
  • The candidates had to avoid half darkened, lightly darkened or darkening of more than one circles or with any other coloured ball point pen in the OMR answer sheet.
  • They also had to avoid the use of the pencil as it will be considered invalid while marking the answer option in AP EAMCET 2017.
