CAT 2016: Cut Off declaration is 90 percentile by IIM Calcutta

One of the best management institutes from India, namely, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM C) has declared PGP-PGDM 2017-2019 batch admission policy.

The benchmark or barometer declared by IIM C is of utmost importance & very crucial significance to the students who have decided to appear in the Common Admission Test or CAT 2016 as this information will guide them & strategies better so as to secure the most desired seat in the India’s one of the top institute.

December 4, 2016 is the exam date of CAT 2016. The students who are willing to make their career in India’s premier or arguably world’s premier institute IIMs, will be able to decide their plan of action as now they are aware of the basis of selection of the students by the IIM Calcutta.

Selection for Personal Interview (PI):

For Selection to Personal Interview round, the Minimum section-wise and & overall cut-off percentile is as under:

The students who will be able to secure minimum percentile as shown in above table in each category in the exam of CAT 2016 shall only be adjudged for calculation of their composite score. This score will be used in short listing students for PI.

How is Composite Score Calculation done?

The formula of calculating the Composite Score is on the basis of Class X and XII marks, CAT 2016 score & gender diversity factor.

Final selection of the students for PGP-PGDM 2017-2019 shall definitely only be based on the combination of all of the above mentioned benchmarks & none of the single criterion will automatically qualify any student for admission to IIM Calcutta.

CAT 2016 is scheduled to be held on December 4, 2016 and registrations for the same are already underway. Aspiring students need to get themselves enrolled on or before 22nd September, 2016.

Canadian Youth Environmental Leadership Scholarship

The Canadian Youth Environmental Leadership Scholarship will contribute to the
advancement of new ideas and new ways of thinking when it comes to protecting
the environment by supporting students who demonstrate a commitment to
leadership and the environment. The Scholarship will be awarded to two Canadian
students who have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program and
who best combine academic achievement with public environmental service.

Scholarship details:
Each scholarship recipient will be awarded $5,000

Provide a short, 500 word essay outlining your passion for the environment;

well as your future career plans
Include a brief resume outlining your involvement in environmental protection,
conservation and advocacy activities
Include a nomination letter from your dean, another faculty representative
or community leader

Nominators:
Complete the nomination form
Provide an explanation of the leadership and/or innovation the student has
shown in their studies or community work with regard to environmental
knowledge and protection


Selection process:
Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview by a committee of
employees from participating sponsor companies
The committee will select the first and second place finalists based on the best
combination of academic success and public environmental service – action,
advocacy, and volunteer activities
Scholarship recipients will be announced by March 2013

Qualifications
Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or landed immigrants
studying at a Canadian university or college
Applicants must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program
Applicants must demonstrate dedication and leadership in the community and
a commitment to tackle environmental issues.
